The Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys face off on Sunday in a Week 4 NFL showdown at AT&T Stadium. On December 26th of last year, it was the Cowboys that beat the Commanders 56-14.
Washington comes into this game with a 1-2 record overall and even though it’s early in this season, this is basically a must-win. The Commanders opened up the season with a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they have now lost back to back games against the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. The offense only managed eight points against the Eagles, and that led to the 16-point defeat. In the last game against the Eagles, Carson Wentz completed 25 of his 43 passes for 211 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The Commanders also really struggled to get something going on the ground and they need a more balanced offensive attack.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cowboys who sit with a 2-1 record overall and they are coming off a win against the New York Giants. The one loss came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the offense only scored three points in that game. In the last game, Cooper Rush looked good against the Giants completing 21 of his 31 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown. Tony Pollard had a big game finishing with 13 carries for 105 yards. The Cowboys offense is averaging only 15.3 points per game but that number is dragged down a bit because of the game they only scored three points. Micah Parsons looks like one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
The Cowboys are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games against a team with a losing record. The Commanders are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games in October. The under is 4-0 in the Cowboys last four home games. The under is 4-0-1 in the Cowboys last five games on fieldturf.
I don’t trust this Commanders offense, and they are going to have some major issues keeping Parsons out of the backfield. Wentz is going to really struggle to move the ball against the Cowboys defense. I also still am not sold on Cooper Rush, and they aren’t going to exactly run up the score here either. This game is going to be very low scoring, and the under is going to cash.
