Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions - 10/2/22 NFL Picks and Prediction
The Seattle Seahawks will play the Detroit Lions in Week 4 of the NFL regular season at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
The Seattle Seahawks are 1-2 this season after they lost to the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 27-23 in their last game. Seattle led this game 23-20 late in the fourth quarter, but allowed Atlanta to score the game-winning touchdown with 35 seconds left. The Seattle offense is averaging 15.7 points per game with 221.7 passing yards per game and 74.7 rushing yards per game. Geno Smith has thrown for 717 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions for the Seahawks this season. Rashaad Penny has rushed for 141 yards, while DK Metcalf has caught 16 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown for Seattle. The Seattle defense is allowing 23.3 points per game and 397.3 yards per game.
The Detroit Lions are 1-2 this season after they lost to Minnesota by a score of 28-24 in Week 3. Detroit led this game 24-14 in the fourth quarter, but some questionable coaching and bad defense allowed Minnesota to score 14 unanswered points for the win. The Detroit offense is averaging 31.7 points per game with 238.7 passing yards per game and 170.3 rushing yards per game. Jared Goff has thrown for 748 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions for the Lions this season. D’Andre Swift is questionable and may not play, but Jamaal Williams has rushed for 168 yards and four scores for Detroit. Josh Reynolds (questionable) has caught 10 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown for Detroit. The Lions defense is giving up 31 points per game and 408 yards per game.
Seattle 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Week 4 games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 road games. The under is 5-0 in Seattle’s last 5 October games. Detroit is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games. The over is 5-0 in Detroit’s last 5 games. The home team is 6-2 ATS in these two teams last 8 head to head meetings.
Detroit is battling a good amount of injuries, so it will be worth checking on Sunday to see who is playing and who is out. D’Andre Swift (OUT), Amon-Ra St. Brown (OUT), DJ Chark, Josh Reynolds, and TJ Hockenson are all banged up and account for most of Detroit’s offense. Both teams have struggled on defense on defense this season and have allowed over 400 yards per game. I like the over in this game, but keep an eye on the Detroit injury list.
