The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints face off on Sunday in a Week 4 NFL showdown at Northumberland Development Project in London. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2020 and the Saints secured the 52-33 victory.
The Vikings come into this game with a 2-1 record but for much of the last game, they looked like they might move to 1-2. It took a late touchdown from KJ Osborn to secure the victory over the Detroit Lions. Kirk Cousins completed 26 of his 41 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns. Dalvin Cook is dealing with a shoulder injury, and he won’t be able to go in this game. In the last game he finished with 17 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown. The Vikings are averaging 19.3 points while thier defense is giving up 18.3 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Saints who sit with a 1-2 record overall and they are coming off another loss in their last game. The Saints only managed 14 points and that led to the eight-point defeat against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints are super banged up heading into this game. Michael Thomas has already been ruled out for this game, and it looks like Andy Dalton will get the start under center. The Saints are averaging 17 points while their defense is giving up 22.7 points per game.
The Vikings are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games in October. The Saints are 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record. The over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings played between the two teams. The favorite is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings played between the two teams.
The Saints having to start Andy Dalton changes a lot in this game. I expect the Vkings to spread around the ball with the offense, the Saints aren’t going to keep up. Even if the Saints give up only 20 points, that isn’t going to be enough to keep this game close. The Saints are going to score 13 or less points, and the Vikings will secure the victory.
