Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 10/2/22 NFL Picks and Prediction
The Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet Sunday in week 4 NFL action at Raymond James Stadium. The Kansas City Chiefs look to build on their 2-1 record. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also have a chance to get off to a 3-1 start.
The Kansas City Chiefs have won 6 of their last 9 road games. Patrick Mahomes is completing 67.9 percent of his passes for 857 yards, 8 touchdowns and 1 interception. Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster have combined for 408 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire has 12 receptions. The Kansas City Chiefs ground game is averaging 93 yards per contest, and Edwards-Helaire leads the way with 116 yards and 1 touchdown. Defensively, Kansas City is allowing 21.7 points and 314 yards per game. Nick Bolton leads the Kansas City Chiefs with 29 tackles, L’Jarius Sneed has 2 sacks and Jaylen Watson has 1 interception.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won 7 of their last 9 home games. Tom Brady is completing 65 percent of his passes for 673 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Mike Evans and Russell Gage have combined for 260 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, while Breshad Perriman has 6 receptions. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ground game is averaging 86 yards per contest, and Leonard Fournette leads the way with 227 yards on 57 carries. Defensively, Tampa Bay is allowing 9 points and 289 yards per game. Devin White leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 24 tackles, Shaquil Barrett has 2 sacks and Jamel Dean has 2 interceptions.
The Chiefs are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games following a ATS loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games on grass. The Buccaneers are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 home games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The over is 8-3 in Chiefs last 11 games overall. The under is 4-1 in Buccaneers last 5 games overall. The Chiefs are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Tampa Bay and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
Make this line make sense. Yes, the Kansas City Chiefs are coming off that bizarre showing against the Colts, but they're still one of the more talented teams in the league, and you rarely get Mahomes in the underdog role. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are great defensively, and they'll have some extra motivation in hopes of providing some joy after what just happened on the west coast of Florida with the hurricane. However, the Bucs offense has yet to really get off the ground and there's even more injuries with Breshad Perriman now doubtful. Brady doesn't look comfortable as he tries to work in new weapons. Give me the Chiefs in this toss up.
