The Chicago Bears and New York Giants face off on Sunday in a Week 4 NFL showdown at MetLife Stadium. On January 2nd it was the Bears that secured the 29-3 victory.
The Bears come into this game with a 2-1 record overall and they are coming off a big victory in the last game against the Houston Texans. Even though the Bears lost in the last game there are still some major questions about Justin Fields and his play. In his last game against the Texans, he completed 8 of his 17 passes for 106 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Bears haven’t allowed Fields to really throw the ball a lot, and in this game, he can’t be having the turnovers. The Bears offense is averaging 17.3 points while their defense is giving up 19 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Giants who sit with a 2-1 record overall but they are coming off a loss in their last game. The Giants gave up 10 points to the Dallas Cowboys in the 4th quarter and that was the difference as they lost 23-16. Daniel Jones completed 20 of his 37 passes for 196 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Saquon Barkley finished with 14 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. The Giants are averaging 18.7 points while their defense is giving up 19.7 points per game. Sterling Shepard suffered a torn ACL in the last game and he won’t be available to go in this game.
The Bears are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games in Week 4. The Giants are 10-23-1 against the spread in their last 34 home games. The over is 7-3 in the Bears last 10 games on fieldturf. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between the Bears and Giants.
This total is set under 40, but I think even that number is too high. It’s clear the Bears still don’t trust Fields, and the Giants defense has actually been good this season. Both teams are going to finish under 17 points, and the under is going to cash. I also expect the Giants to have a little more success, and they will cover the spread. This is a perfect game to parlay together for extra profit.
