The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants face off on Monday Night Football in an NFL showdown at MetLife Stadium. When these two teams faced off last December it was the Cowboys that secured the 21-6 victory.
The Cowboys come into this game with a 1-1 record but there are still a ton of questions about how good they can be this season. In the first game, the Cowboys lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-3, but in the last game they were able to secure a 20-17 victory. Dak Prescott is out, but Cooper Rush is a very good backup, and they will need him to be good here. In the last game Rush completed 19 of his 31 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown. In this game the offense also needs to get the rushing game going, to take some of the pressure off of the quarterback.
On the other side of this matchup is the Giants and they sit with a 2-0 record but the two wins have been by only four points total. In the last game against the Panthers, they only scored 19 points, but it was still enough to secure the victory. Daniel Jones completed 22 of his 34 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. Saquon Barkley has also had a big season and in the last game he rushed 21 times for 72 yards. The defense is still the strength of this team, and that is what they will need to lean on in this game.
The Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games. The Giants are 1-4 in their last five games against the NFC. The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between the two teams. The Cowboys are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings against the Giants.
I don’t trust Rush and Jones under center, and this game is going to be all about both teams defenses. I especially expect the Cowboys are going to struggle to move the ball, and that is going to be the difference as this game stays well under the total. This game should finish under 30 points. Back the under.
