The Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens face off on Sunday in a Week 2 NFL showdown at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Dolphins come into this game with a 1-0 record and they looked quite impressive in the first game against the New England Patriots. This is an offense that has a ton of speed and they showed that in their 20-7 victory. Tua Tagovailoa completed 22 of his 33 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown. Tyreek Hill proved why they went and got him in the offseason catching eight passes for 94 yards. One area on offense where they could improve is with the running game. The top rusher was Chase Edmonds but he had 12 carries for 25 yards. On defense, they made life tough on Mac Jones all game, but the defense is going to need to be even better here against the Ravens.
On the other side of this matchup is the Ravens and they beat the New York Jets 24-9 in the first game. The offense got off to a bit of a slow start, but in the second and third quarter, they looked really good. Lamar Jackson completed 17 of his 30 passes for 213 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Rashod Bateman was the top receiver catching two passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. On defense, the Ravens looked really good giving up only nine points total. Cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters are both dealing with injuries and were limited in practice this week.
Miami is 8-2-1 against the spread in their last 11 games. The Ravens are 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record. The Dolphins are 1-9 against the spread in their last 10 meetings against the Ravens.
The Dolphins have struggled to cover spreads against the Ravens, but that is going to change here. Miami has a fast offense and I expect Jaylen Waddle and Hill to both have big games in this one. Even if this game becomes a shootout, I expect the Dolphins to find enough offense to keep it close. Back the Dolphins against the spread.
