The San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears face off on Sunday in a Week 1 NFL showdown at Solider Field.

The 49ers have high expectations for this season, but most of that is probably going to come down to Trey Lance. In the preseason Lance was a bit inconsistent, but if he plays up to his talent level, this is a team that can win the Super Bowl. Lance has one of the most exciting players in the NFL to help him with Deebo Samuel. Last season Samuel caught 77 passes for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns. The 49ers are pretty healthy coming into this game. George Kittle is dealing with a groin injury and is questionable for this game.

On the other side of this matchup is the Bears and they need Justin Fields to take a big step forward this season. Last season Fields completed 58.9 percent of his passes for 1.870 yards, seven touchdowns, and ten interceptions. One problem for this Bears team is that they don’t have a very good offensive line, and Fields is probably going to be running for his life a lot in this game. Last season the defense was good, and it will need to be strong here. The Bears are pretty banged up heading into this game but Velus Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury.

The 49ers are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games against the NFC. Chicago is 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games. The under is 7-1 in the 49ers last eight games overall. The road team is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings.

The Bears offense is going to have issues protecting Fields and that is going to be the difference here. I don’t think the Beras are going to have issues scoring even ten points. I also am not quite sold on Trey Lance yet, and he is going to struggle in this game against the Bears defense. Look for both teams to really struggle to score here, and the under is going to cash here.
