The New York Giants will play the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 of the NFL regular season at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.
The New York Giants were 2-1 in the preseason after defeating Cincinnati and New England and losing to the Jets. The Giants will have Brian Daboll as their head coach in this game and he will look to start out with a win. Daniel Jones will be the starting quarterback for the Giants, but he has not produced much for them. Saquon Barkley will be the starting running back, while there will be a committee of receivers for Jones to throw the ball to. The Giants defense should be improved from last season, but can their offense help by keeping them off the field?
The Tennessee Titans were 1-2 during the preseason after losing to Baltimore and defeating Arizona and Tampa Bay. Tennessee will have Ryan Tannehill under center in this game, as he will continue his role as game manager. Derrick Henry, one of the best running backs in the league, will be ready to have another big season. The Titans have Robert Woods and Treylon Burks at the wide receiver position. Tennessee was in position to make a deep run in the playoffs last season, but got tripped up by the Bengals in a game they should have won.
New York is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 September games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games. The under is 5-1 in New York’s last 6 Week 1 games. Tennessee is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Week 1 games. The under is 5-0 in Tennessee’s last 5 home games and the under is 5-1 in Tennessee’s last 6 games. The Giants are 1-4 ATS in these two teams last 5 head to head meetings.
Tennessee will come into this game trying to get the bad taste out of their mouth after choking away a playoff game last season. The Giants are looking to start the season off with a win and have most of their pieces healthy. Tennessee will run the ball with Henry and try to control the clock, while the Giants will try to do the same with Barkley. I like the under in this game.
