The Las Vegas Raiders will play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 of the NFL regular season on Sunday afternoon at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The Las Vegas Raiders were 4-0 during this preseason after defeating Jacksonville, Minnesota, Miami, and New England. The Raiders will have a new coach this season in the name of Josh McDaniels. Derek Carr will be back at quarterback for the Raiders in this game. Las Vegas went out and got Davante Adams in the off-season, which was a huge move to help boost their passing game. Josh Jacobs will be the lead running back for the Raiders. The Las Vegas defense was not very good last year, but they did make a few additions to try and improve that unit.
The Los Angeles Chargers were 0-3 this preseason after losing to New Orleans, Dallas, and the Rams. Justin Herbert is the starting quarterback for Los Angeles and is one of the better quarterbacks in the league. The Chargers offense is loaded this season with Ekeler at running back and Keenan Allen and Mike Williams at receiver. The Los Angeles defense was terrible last season, but they did bring in Khalil Mack to help that side of the ball. The Chargers offense is going to be one of the best units in the league and it should be very fun to watch them this year.
Las Vegas is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Week 1 games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 September games. The under is 4-1 in Las Vegas’ last 5 games. Los Angeles is 7-1-2 ATS in their last 10 Week 1 games and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games against the AFC. The over is 6-0 in Los Angele’s last 6 games. The under is 17-4-1 in these two teams last 22 head to head meetings in Los Angeles.
This should be a very fun game to watch, as both offenses should be ready to have big days. The Chargers will be looking to start this season better than they ended last year, where they just barely missed the playoffs. I do think both defenses will struggle here and I am taking the over.
