The Kansas City Chiefs will play the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the NFL regular season at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday afternoon.
The Kansas City Chiefs were 2-1 this preseason after losing to Chicago and defeating Green Bay and Washington. Patrick Mahomes is back under center for the Chiefs, but he will be missing Tyreek Hill this season. Travis Kelce will be back at tight end, while Kansas City signed Valdez-Scantling and Smith-Schuster at receiver. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be the lead back for the Chiefs. The Kansas City defense was pretty good last season and they really only need to be average to play their part with a high-powered offense.
The Arizona Cardinals were 1-2 during the preseason after they beat Cincinnati and lost to Tennessee and Baltimore. Arizona will have Kyler Murray at quarterback once again, after they signed him to an extension in the off-season. James Conner will be the starting running back, while Marquise Brown is at receiver. DeAndre Hopkins is suspended and will not play in this game. The Arizona defense will probably not be as good as they were last year and will be put to the test in this game against the Chiefs.
Kansas City is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Week 1 games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games. The over is 4-0 in Kansas City’s last 4 road games. Arizona is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on grass and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games. The under is 4-1 in Arizona’s last 5 games. The home team is 5-1 ATS in these two teams last 6 head to head meetings.
It will be very interesting to see how the Chiefs play without Tyreek Hill and I think it may take them some time to figure things out. Arizona started last year playing so well, but faded to the end the season. I think we are going to see plenty of points in this game, even with the Chiefs figuring things out. I like Arizona to score early and often and I am taking the over.
