The Washington Commanders will play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 of the NFL Preseason at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday night.
The Washington Commanders are 0-2 this preseason after losing to Kansas City last week by a score of 24-14 and losing to Carolina in Week 1 by a score of 23-21. Washington really struggled offensively against the Chiefs last week and their defense did not hold up very well against Kansas City’s starters. Washington has said that their starters will be limited in this game, maybe playing a few series. I don’t expect the Washington offense to do much better against this Ravens defense. You can expect to see Taylor Heinicke and Sam Howell under center for the majority of this game.
The Baltimore Ravens are 2-0 this preseason and have defeated Arizona by a score of 24-17 last week and Tennessee by a score of 23-10 in Week 1. In their win over Arizona, Baltimore jumped out to a 24-3 lead before allowing two scores in the fourth quarter. Baltimore has won an impressive 22 straight preseason games and will look to extend that here. We should see Tyler Huntley and Anthony Brown under center for the Ravens here. Defensively, Baltimore has looked very impressive through two games, only looking vulnerable late in the game against Arizona.
Washington is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The over is 8-0 in Washington’s last 8 Saturday games. Baltimore is 22-0 in their last 22 preseason games. The under is 4-0 in Baltimore’s last 4 Saturday games.
Baltimore takes preseason games very seriously and I can almost guarantee that they want to win this game more than Washington does to extend their streak another year. Baltimore has the better team in this matchup, but can the defense hold the lead late in the game? I think Baltimore will close better after almost falling apart late last week. I also think the Baltimore offense will get off to a strong start, like they have in their first two games. I like the Ravens here.
