Jacksonville Jaguars at Atlanta Falcons - 8/27/22 NFL Picks and Prediction
The Jacksonville Jaguars will play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3 of the NFL Preseason at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday afternoon.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-3 this preseason after losing to Las Vegas, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. Jacksonville played in the Hall of Fame Game, so they got an extra preseason game. Jacksonville has struggled to get the offense going so far this year, averaging 13 points per game. Jacksonville has said that they will not play many of their starters, so we will see how their backups can do. In Jacksonville’s last game, jumped out to an early lead and led in the fourth quarter, but Pittsburgh scored nine points in the final six minutes for the win.
The Atlanta Falcons are 1-1 so far this preseason with a 24-16 loss to the Jets last week and a win against Detroit by a score of 27-23 in Week 1. In their last game, Atlanta led 16-0 late in the second quarter before their offense went missing. The Jets were able to score 24 unanswered points and walk away with a win. Atlanta will also sit most of their starters, meaning we should get another good look at Desmond Ridder. Atlanta has to be pleased with how Ridder has looked so far during this preseason. The Atlanta defense has to worry you at least a little bit after giving up a combined 47 points to Detroit and New York.
Jacksonville is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. The under is 5-2 in Jacksonville’s last 7 road games. Atlanta is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games. The under is 4-1 in Atlanta’s last 5 home games. The under is 5-1 in these two teams last 6 head to head meetings.
Jacksonville will look to get in the win column to close out the preseason, but that will be tough to do against the Falcons in this game. I have not seen anything that I have liked from Jacksonville so far this preseason and I like the depth of the Falcons better. I am taking Atlanta to win here.
