The Cleveland Browns will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon in this NFC East vs AFC North preseason matchup. This will take place at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. 

The Philadelphia Eagles opened the preseason with a last-second 24-21 loss to the Jets last week. The Eagles jumped to a 14-0 lead after the opening quarter to get the win in this one. 

Jalen Hurts is the #1 QB on the depth chart and completed six of six passes for 80 yards plus a score in the win. Gardner Minshew II hit eight of 12 throws for 81 yards while adding three carries for 11 yards. Reid Sinnett will be the third stringer and featured in this one. Jason Huntley had 16 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown.

Last season the Philadelphia Eagles averaged 359.9 yards on offense and 328.8 yards given up on defense. 

The Cleveland Browns opened their preseason slate with a 24-13 road victory over Jacksonville last week. The Browns got some bad news this week when Watsons suspension was extended. Kareem Hunt made a trade request which the team rejected which also adds to the turmoil this team is facing. 

Watson got the start in his first action since the 2020 campaign and predictably struggled in the contest. He was just one of five for seven yards in the win. Jacoby Brissett will likely replace Watson during his suspension in the regular season. Josh Dobbs was 10 0f 13 for 108 yards and a touchdown. 

Nick Chubb and Hunt are the top two backs in the system and will be the offensive focal points while Watson is gone. 

Last season the Cleveland Browns averaged 340.6 yards on offense and 311.5 yards given up on defense. 

The Browns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games on grass and are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Browns are also 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Although the Eagles are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Cleveland the Browns have so much drama surrounding their team that they should fall again.
