The Balimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals face off on Sunday in a Week 2 NFL preseason game at the University of Phoenix Stadium. When these two teams last faced off in 2019 it was the Ravens that won 23-17.
The preseason doesn’t really matter in terms of wins and losses, but don’t tell the Ravens that. Coming into this game, Baltimore has won 21 games in a row. The Ravens are dealing with a ton of injuries heading into this game, especially on offense. Some key players like Lamar Jackson, Rashod Bateman, James Proche, and Devin Duvernay are all expected to miss this game. In the first game of the season the Ravens face off against the Titans, and they were defeated 23-10. Tyler Huntley completed 16 of his 18 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Brown completed 10 of his 15 passes for 117 yards.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cardinals and there are a couple of storylines with them heading into this game. Trace McSorley and Hollywood Brown will be facing their former team in this game. Brown probably won’t play, but McSorley will probably play a lot, and the Ravens defense could have a leg up playing against him with practice, or it might not matter with McSorley playing in a new system. Kyler Murray isn’t going to play in this game, and it doesn’t look like Colt McCoy will play a lot either, so it will be the McSorley show in this game. In the first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cardinals' offense put up 36 points on the way to the victory. McSorley completed 13 of his 23 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown.
The Cardinals are 0-5 in their last five home games.
The Ravens win streak has been impressive heading into this game, but it’s all going to end here. I expect another big game from McSorley, and the Cardinals offense is going to be too much here. The Ravens are sitting too many players on offense, and they aren’t going to score enough to keep up. Back the Cardinals against the spread.
