The Denver Broncos will play the Buffalo Bills in Week Two of the NFL Preseason on Saturday afternoon at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
The Denver Broncos are 1-0 this preseason after defeating the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 17-7 in their first game. Denver scored all of their 17 points in the second quarter and was able to hold Denver scoreless until late in the fourth quarter. Denver did not play many of their starters in their first game and are not expected to play them in this game. It is confirmed that Russell Wilson will not be playing in this game. Josh Johnson and Brett Rypien will handle the quarterback duties for Denver in this game. Denver will continue with their very cautious approach to the preseason.
The Buffalo Bills are also 1-0 this preseason after beating the Indianapolis Colts last week by a score of 27-24. Buffalo trailed by 14 points in the fourth quarter before scoring 17 unanswered points to win the game. Josh Allen did not play in the first game, but is expected to play a few series in this game. It sounds like most of the starters are going to get some decent playing time in this game as the Bills try to get ready for the regular season. Once Josh Allen is pulled from the game, Matt Barkley and Case Keenum should take over for the Bills.
Denver is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The over is 5-1 in Denver’s last 6 Saturday games. Buffalo is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 home games. The over is 8-2 in Buffalo’s last 10 Saturday games. Denver is 0-7 ATS in these two teams last 7 head to head meetings.
It is tough to get 100% proof of what is going to happen with a lineup in the preseason, but Buffalo should be playing their starters for at least a few series. This should help the Bills jump out to a big lead, but once the starters are pulled, the playing field gets pretty evened out. I think six points is a lot for a preseason game where we aren’t even sure how long the starters will play. I will happily take the points with Denver.
