The weekend before the Super Bowl won’t be without football as the NFL Pro Bowl will take place on Sunday in Las Vegas. When these two teams last faced off in 2020 it was the AFC that came away with the 38-33 victory.
This features the top players across the NFL facing off in an exhibition that has relaxed rules that encourages scoring.
The AFC is loaded with quality quarterbacks and the three players under center will Justin Herbert, Patrick Mahomes, and Mac Jones. There were some opt outs with the wide receivers, but Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs will both be leaned on heavily. One of the real strengths of this team is with the defensive ends. Las Vegas Raiders standout Max Crosbhy and Myles Garrett will be trying to make life tough on the opposing quarterbacks. There is no blitzing in the Pro Bowl which does take away some of the effectiveness of the defense. T.J. Watt is another key defensive player that could play a big role on this team.
The NFC has had plenty of replacements on the offense, but this is still a talented team. Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, and Russell Wilson will be the teams quarterbacks. The running backs are Dalvin Cook, James Connor, and Alvin Kamara. Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams have opted out, but this is a team that still has Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans, and CeeDee Lamb. Watching the elite wide receivers going against the defensive backs of the AFC should be entertaining to watch all game. On defense all eyes are going to be on Trevon Diggs who could be matched up during this game against his brother, Stefon Diggs. The NFC is going to need Cousins and Wilson to both have big games if they want to get the win.
There wasn’t a whole lot of defense played in the last Pro Bowl and it’s going to be no different in this game. Without a lot of defense being played this will be a show from all the wide receivers. With no blitzing, it leaves plenty of time for the quarterbacks to find the open receivers. Look for at least 65 points to be scored, and the over will cash.
