Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers: 12/19/21 NFL Picks and Predictions
The Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers face off on Sunday in a Week 15 NFL showdown at Heinz Field. When these two teams faced off in 2020 it was the Steelers that were able to come away with the 27-24 victory.
The Titans come into this game with a 9-4 record and they have gone 8-5 against the spread. The Titans have been a bit inconsistent this season, but they are coming off a big win in their last game. The defense locked down not giving up any points, and the offense managed to score 20 points. The Titans are averaging 24.9 points per game while their defense is giving up 22.3 points per game. One issue for this Titans team is without Derrick Henry they don’t have a running back they can really lean on. In the last game D’Onta Freeman had 13 rushing attempts for 47 yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of this matchup is the Pittsburgh Steelers who sit with a 6-6-1 record overall and they have gone 5-8 against the spread. In the last game against the Minnesota Vikings they fell behind 23-0 and although they made a comeback in the second half, they made a bit of a comeback, but they couldn’t pull out the victory. The Steelers are averaging 20.9 points while their defense is giving up 24.7 points per game. In the last game Ben Roethlisberger completed 28 of his 40 passes for 308 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
The Titans are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games against the AFC. The Steelers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against the AFC. The underdog is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between the Titans and Steelers. The over is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings.
The Steelers made a nice comeback in their last game against the Vikings, but I don’t trust their offense with Big Ben under center. Look for the Titans' defense to be strong, and it won’t take a whole lot of offense for Tennessee to get the job done. Back the Titans against the spread.
