The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins face off on Sunday in a Week 15 NFL showdown at the Hard Rock Stadium. When these two teams faced off on November 21 it was the Dolphins that came away with the 24-17.
The Jets come into this game with a 3-10 record overall and they have gone 3-10 against the spread. This Jets team has been inconsistent this season, and in the last game against the New Orleans Saints they lost 30-9. The Jets are averaging 17.38 points while their defense is giving up 30.5 points per game. The Jets offense is young and that has led to some of the struggles with this team. Quarterback Zach Wilson has thrown for 1,741 yards, six touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He has shown some flashes of being good, but overall there has been some major struggles, and they are going to need him to be better.
On the other side of this matchup is the Miami Dolphins who sit with a 6-7 record and they have gone 7-5-1 against the spread. The Dolphins have won five games in a row but they have played an easier schedule including that win against the Jets. in the last game against the New York Giants the Dolphins defense was strong giving up only nine points and that led to the 11 point victory. Tua Tagovailoa had a good game passing for 244 yards and two touchdowns. The Dolphins are averaging 19.5 points while their defense has given up 22.1 points per game.
The Jets are 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games against the AFC. The Dolphins are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six games. The Jets are 1-9-1 against the spread in the last 11 meetings between the two teams.
The Jets have struggled to cover spreads against the Dolphins and it’s not going to get any easier in this game. The Jets offense is going to struggle against the DOlphins and that will be the difference in this game. Back the Dolphins against the spread. This is one of my favorite plays on the entire slate.
