New York Giants at Los Angeles Chargers - 12/12/21 NFL Picks and Predictions

The New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers face off on Sunday in a cross-conference NFL showdown at SoFi Stadium. When these two teams faced off in October of 2017 it was the Chargers that won 27-22. 

The New York Giants come into this game with a 4-8 record overall and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. In the last game against the Miami Dolphins, the Giants offense could only score nine points and that led to the 11 point victory. Over the last three games, the Giants have scored only 32 points total. Daniel Jones is dealing with structural damage in his neck and isn’t expected to go in this game. Giants coach Joe Judge has said he’s optimistic that Mike Glennon will be ready to start in his place. Running back Saquon Barkley is dealing with an ankle injury and it’s unclear if he will be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Chargers who sit with a 7-5 record and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. The Chargers have been inconsistent, but they are coming off quite the impressive win in their last game. The offense against the Bengals put up 41 points and that led to the easy victory. The Chargers are averaging 26.2 points per game while their defense is giving up 26.3 points per game. Justin Herbert has thrown for 3,547 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. In this game, it’s going to be important that the defense steps up and makes life tough on the Giants' offense. This is a team that at times has been a real head scratcher, and it will be interesting to see how Herbert reacts to the defense of the Giants.
