The San Francisco 49ers will travel to Lumen Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday afternoon in NFL action.
The San Francisco 49ers won their 3rd straight game and improved to 6-5 on the season after defeating the Minnesota Vikings, 34-26, this past Sunday. San Francisco was outstanding offensively against Minnesota and was able to pull away after a 2-yard TD run by Elijah Mitchell gave the 49ers a 28-14 lead with 11:09 left in the 3rd quarter. San Francisco outgained Minnesota by a 423-323 margin and won the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the 49ers was RB Eli Mitchell who had 27 carries for 133 yards & 1 TD.
On the season, San Francisco is averaging 25.5 ppg on 376.0 total yards per game (245.1 passing yds/g; 130.9 rushing yds/g). Offensively, San Francisco has been led by WR Deebo Samuel who has 56 receptions for 1006 yards & 5 TD while also rushing for 203 yards & 5 TD on 25 carries. QB Jimmy Garoppolo has completed 66.8% of his passes for 2342 yards, 13 TD, & 6 INT. The other top receivers for the 49ers have been Brandon Aiyuk (32 rec, 432 yards, 3 TD), George Kittle (35 rec, 425 yards, 3 TD), & Kyle Juszczyk (21 rec, 210 yards, TD). Leading the way for the San Francisco backfield has been Elijah Mitchell who has 693 rushing yards & 4 TD on 143 carries.
Defensively, San Francisco is allowing their opponents to average 22.5 ppg on 334.1 total yards per game (222.6 passing yds/g; 111.5 rushing yds/g).
The Seattle Seahawks lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 3-8 on the season after being defeated by the Washington Football Team, 17-15, this past Sunday. Seattle had a chance to force OT after 32-yard TD reception by Freddie Swain with just :15 seconds left made it a 15-13 game, however, the Seahawks came up short after not being able to convert the two-point conversion. Seattle was outgained by Washington by a 371-267 margin and committed 1 turnover in the loss. Leading the way for the Seahawks was QB Russell Wilson who completed 20 of 31 passes for 247 yards & 2 TD.
On the season, Seattle is averaging 19.0 ppg on 321.0 total yards per game (228.5 passing yds/g; 92.5 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Seattle has been led by QB Russell Wilson who has completed 64.9% of his passes for 1811 yards (241.1 passing yds/g), 12 TD, & 3 INT. The top receiving threats for the Seahawks have been Tyler Lockett (50 rec, 813 yards, 3 TD), DK Metcalf (47 rec, 650 yards, 8 TD), Gerald Everett (30 rec, 272 yards, 2 TD), & Freddie Swain (17 rec, 201 yards, 3 TD). Defensively, Seattle is allowing their opponents to average 20.5 ppg on 410.4 total yards per game (285.5 passing yds/g; 124.9 rushing yds/g).
The 49ers are 4-1 ATS in tier last 5 games overall & 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as a road favorite. The Seahawks are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 December games & 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. NFC West opponents.
These are two teams that are going in different directions as the 49ers have looked like one of the better teams in the NFL over the past month while Seattle has lost 6 of their last 7 games with their only victory coming against Jacksonville. San Francisco has been outstanding on the offensive end as the 49ers have put up 30+ points in 4 of their last 5 games and as the Seattle offense has just not been able to get anything going, averaging just 9.3 ppg over their last three games, I think San Francisco will be able to do enough on the road to cover this spread. Good Luck!
