The Indianapolis Colts will visit the Houston Texans in this AFC South Battle on Sunday.
Houston is coming off a 21-14 home loss to the New York Jets as a 2.5-point favorite. Tyrod Taylor completed 17 of 26 pass attempts for 158 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding 30 rushing yards.
Quarterback Taylor has looked good in the five games he’s started. He missed some time with a hamstring injury. He has completed 86 of 137 pass attempts for 921 yards, five touchdowns to four interceptions while adding 136 yards and three scores on the ground.
The Texans are last in scoring this season, with the offense average of 14.9 points on 264.81 yards per game this season. Houston's defense is also terrible as they allow opponents to score an average of 26.5 points and 378.09 yards per contest so far.
The Colts kept it close but couldn’t get the win against Tom Brady and the Bucs in their last contest. The Colts outgained the Bucs in that game but the final was 38-31 as Tom Brady led another game winning drive and Leonard Fournette ran it home from 28 yards to win it in the final minute. Carson Wentz completed 27 of 44 pass attempts for 306 yards, three touchdowns to two interceptions and 21 rushing yards
Wentz has had a resurgent season with the Colts as he completed 250 of 398 pass attempts for 2,790 yards, 21 touchdowns to five interceptions and has one score on the ground.
This team has looked fluid offensively with 28.3 points and 366.33 yards per game. The Colts defense is allowing opponents to score 23.6 points and 358.83 yards per contest.
All the signs point towards the Colts in this one, however, this may be too many points. The Colts are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite. The Texans have also been sneaky against the spread as they are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. AFC South. I think the Colts grab the win here, but not by a touchdown. I’ll take the points with the Texans in this one.
