The Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions face off on Thanksgiving Day in an NFL showdown at Ford Field. The Bears have won six of the last seven games against the Lions.
The Chicago Bears come into this game with a 3-7 record overall and they have gone 4-6 against the spread. Coming into this game the Bears have lost five games in a row and in the last game they lost to the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens had Tyler Huntley under center, but the Bears offense couldn’t find enough success only putting up 13 points and that led to the defeat. Justin Fields did get hurt in that game, and will miss this game. Quarterback Andy Dalton completed 11 of his 23 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. On the season Dalton has thrown for 471 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. The Bears are averaging 16.3 points while their defense is giving up 24 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Detroit Lions who sit with an 0-9-1 record overall but they have gone 6-4 against the spread. In the last game against the Cleveland Browns the Lions defense was strong, but without Jared Goff the offense couldn’t find enough success and that led to the 13-10 defeat. The Lions are averaging 16 points while their defense is giving up 27.3 points per game. The big question heading into this game is the status of Goff who is dealing with an oblique injury. If he can’t go it will be Tim Boyle who gets the start and in the last game he threw for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Running back D’Andre Swift has looked good when he has been healthy this season and he currently sits with 555 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
The Bears are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against The Lions are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games played on fieldturf. The under is 7-2 in the Bears last nine games overall. The under is 7-1 in the Bears last eight games overall. The Bears are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven meetings against the Lions.
It doesn’t really matter if Jared Goff starts in this game, both offenses are going to have some major issues scoring points. It wouldn’t be shocking to me if this game finished with under 20 points. Back the under to cash.
