The Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears face off on Sunday in a key NFL showdown at Soldier Field. When these two teams last faced off in 2018 it was the Ravens that came away with the 17-16 victory.
The Ravens come into this game with a 6-3 record overall but they are coming off a really bad loss last Thursday. In that game against the Miami Dolphins, the offense could only manage 10 points and that led to the 12 point loss. The Ravens are averaging 25.7 points per game while their defense is giving up 24.1 points per game. One issue for this team is the Ravens are averaging only three points in the first quarter. Lamar Jackson has thrown for 2,447 yards, 14 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He has also rushed for 639 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie Rashod Bateman has only played four games but he has 18 catches for 241 yards.
On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Bears who sit with a 3-6 record overall and they are 4-5 against the spread. In the last game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bears were competitive, but they still lost by two points. Chicago is averaging 16.7 points while their defense is giving up 24.9 points per game. Rookie quarterback Justin Fields has been inconsistent and he has thrown for 1,282 yards, four touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Turnovers have been an issue for Fields, and they are going to need him to take better care of the ball. On the defensive side, the Bears have played Khalil Mack on the IR.
The Ravens are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall. The Bears are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games in Week 11. The under is 6-1 in the Ravens last seven road games. The under is 6-2 in the Bears last eight games overall.
These are two games that are inconsistent, but I just don’t trust Fields to have success, even at home. Lamar Jackson is going to run wild, and the Bears are going to have no answer for him. Back the Ravens to come away with a win and a cover of the spread.
