The Los Angeles Rams are on the road as they travel to face their NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. Los Angeles comes in off a 28-16 home loss on Sunday Night Football to the Titans last week as a seven-point favorite.
San Francisco was beaten 31-17 at home by Arizona as a 5.5-point favorite last Sunday in their previous contest. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the 49ers own a 72-67-3 advantage and have won the last four meetings.
Last time these two teams met, San Francisco grabbed a 23-20 road win as a five-point underdog on November 29, 2020.
Los Angeles ended a 4 game win streak with a loss to the Titans last time out. They led 3-0 after the opening quarter but gave up 21 unanswered points in the second quarter, including two touchdowns in 11 seconds, and never recovered. The Rams didn’t find the end zone until the final minute of the game. After being released by the Browns, the Rams added Odell Beckham Jr to its receiving core but he will not play this week.
Matthew Stafford has completed 219 of 321 passes for 2,771 yards with 23 touchdowns to six interceptions. He adds 37 yards on the ground. Cooper Kupp has been his top target and with the addition of Beckham Jr, this Rams passing game looks more and more elite.
San Francisco couldn’t capitalize in this one after the Cardinals lost Kyler Murray with an injury They trailed the entire game as they fell to 3-5 on the season. For the season, the 49ers are 13th in the league in passing offense with 252.5 yards per game through the air. They are 14th in rushing offense with 113.1 yards per game on the ground.
