The New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans face off on Sunday in a key NFL showdown at Nissan Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2019 it was the Saints that came away with the 38-28 victory.
The Saints come into this game with a 5-3 record overall but they have been dealing with some key injuries. In the last game against the Atlanta Falcons with Trevor Siemian starting the Saints lost 27-25. Siemian did throw for 249 yards and two touchdowns but the Saints scored 22 points in the quarter. In this game they need the offense to be better earlier. It’s unclear who will start for the Saints but it wouldn’t be shocking to see Taysom Hill get the start.
On the other side of this matchup is the Tennessee Titans who sit with a 7-2 record overall. Two games ago the TItans lost Derrick Henry but the TItans were still able to beat the Rams 28-16 in the last game. The top rusher was D’Onta Foreman who only had 29 yards, but the defense had a couple of key turnovers that were helpful. The team brought in Adrian Peterson and he should play a big role in this game. The Titans are averaging 29.3 points while their defense is giving up 23.4 points per game. Ryan Tannehill has thrown for 2,145 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
The Saints are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games following an against the spread loss. The Titans are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games overall. The over is 4-1 in New Orleans last five games overall. The under is 4-1 in the TItans last five games overall. The road team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings.
The Saints are going to have all kinds of issues scoring against the Titans, and that is going to be the difference in this game. Look for Ryan Tannehill to have a big game and this game is going to get ugly early for the Saints. Back the Titans against the spread.
