The Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders face off on Sunday in an NFL showdown at Allegiant Stadium. These two split the season series last year, with the visiting team winning each of the games.
The Kansas City Chiefs come into this game with a 5-4 record overall, but there are still so many questions surrounding this team. Even when the Chiefs win, they don’t seem to be all that impressive. The Chiefs are averaging 24.6 points while their defense is giving up 25.2 points per game. On the season Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 2534 yards, 20 touchdowns, 10 interceptions. Turnovers have been a big issue for this team, and it’s something that needs to be improved upon going forward. This is another game they feel like they should win, but at this point it’s more like everything clicking again.
On the other side of this matchup is the Las Vegas Raiders who have dealt with a lot this season but still sit with a 5-3 record. Even though the Raiders have found success, they are coming off a loss in their last game against the New York GIants. The offense could only manage 16 points. The Raiders are averaging 24.5 points while their defense is giving up 23.6 points per game. Under center for the Raiders is Derek Carr who has thrown for 2,565 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Without Henry Ruggs on the team, the Raiders need some wide receivers to step up.
The Chiefs are 5-16 against the spread in their last 21 games overall. The Raiders are 5-2 against the spread in their last 17 games against a team with a winning record. The under is 22-10 in the last 32 meetings. The home team is 7-2 against the spread in the last nine meetings.
I don’t trust this Chiefs squad laying points, especially on the road. The Chiefs offense is going to have issues moving the ball and he will be outplayed by Derek Carr. The Raiders will score at least 21 points and that will be enough to cover the spread.
