Los Angeles Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles - 11/7/21 NFL Picks and Prediction
The Eagles will be looking for their first home win when they plan to host the LA Chargers from Lincoln Financial Field in Pennsylvania. Both of these teams are coming off of losses. The LA Chargers are second in the AFC West with a 4-3 record while the Philadelphia Eagles are second in the NFC East with a 3-5 record.
Justin Herbert has a 56.2 QBR while completing 63.7 percent of his passes for 1,994 yards with 16 touchdowns to six interceptions. Two of these 6 interceptions came in the loss against the Patriots last week. Herbert went 18-35 for 223 yards with two touchdowns to match his picks in a close loss.
The Charger are allowing 25.3 points per game, and their rushing defense is one of the worst in the league. Hopefully they will see some success against the weaker opponent as they are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
Jalen Hurts has been more productive on his feet than in the air in his first season as a full time starter. On the ground, he’s been able to pick up 73 rushes for 432 yards on 5.9 yards per carry with five rushing touchdowns. The Philadelphia Eagles have been struggling to throw the ball as Hurts has a 42.9 QBR while completing 61.3 percent of his passes for 1,819 yards with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. In his last game against the Lions, Hurts finished with only 103 yards through the air, he did however have seven rushes for 71 yards.
Defensively, this Eagles team is giving up 23.9 points per game. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and 5-1 in the Chargers last 6 games as a road favorite. I look for this Eagles team to give away points to the Chargers.
Although the Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games, most of those games were wider spreads. At less than a FG, I would have to go with the Chargers who are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
