The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs face off on Sunday in a big time NFL showdown at Arrowhead Stadium.When these two last faced off in 2019 it was the Packers that won 31-24.
It looks like we will be watching the future of the Packers in this game. Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID so the keys will be turned to Jordan Love this week with Blake Bortles backing him up. Love was a standout at Utah State, but during the preseason when he has played he has been inconsistent. The Packers are averaging 24 points while the defense is giving up 20.9 points per game. Some said they got a bit lucky against the Cardinals, but they found a way to come away with the three-point victory. In this game if the Packers want to win, it’s going to need to be Love that is good.
On the other side of this matchup is the Kansas City Chiefs who sit with a 4-4 record and even in their last game that they won, they aren’t all that impressive. The Chiefs are averaging 26 points while the defense is giving up 27.5 points per game. Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 2,368 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Turnovers have been an issue for the Chiefs, and if they want to win this game they need to take better care of the ball.
The Packers are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games overall. The Chiefs are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall. The under is 5-0 in the Packers last five games overall. The over is 7-3 in the Chiefs last 10 games following an against-the-spread loss. The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
The Packers have their hands full with Love starting in this game, but I still think they are going to find plenty of success. The Chiefs offense isn’t as good as it once was, and their lack of scoring will allow this game to stay close. Back the Packers against the spread. .
