Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals: 10/28/21 NFL Picks and Predictions
The Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals face off on Thursday Night Football in an NFL showdown at the University of Phoenix Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2018, the Cardinals came away with the 20-17 victory.
The Packers come into this game with a 6-1 record overall and their only loss came in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. Since that point they have looked like a Super Bowl contender, including in their last game where they beat Washington 24-10. The Packers are averaging 24 points while the defense is giving up 20.86 points per game. Aaron Rodgers is having a big season throwing for 1,710 yards, 15 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Running back Aaron Jones is having a big year rushing for 404 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. One problem for the Packers is that star wide receiver Davante Adams looks like he's going to miss this game as he’s on the COVID list. Adams has caught 52 passes for 744 yards, and three touchdowns.
On the other side of this matchup is the Arizona Cardinals who sit with a perfect 7-0 record but this is a big test for them if they want people to believe they are for real. In the last game against the Houston Texans, it was another complete victory as they were able to win 31-5. The Cardinals are averaging 32.1 points while the defense is giving up 16.3 points. Kyler Murray very well could be the MVP this season and so far he has thrown for 2,002 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has also rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns. DeAndre Hopkins is dealing with a hamstring injury and it’s unclear if he will be able to go in this game.
The Packers are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games. The Cardinals are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games. The under is 4-0 in the Packers last four games overall. The
under is 5-2 in Cardinals last 7 games in Week 8.
The Packers getting six points is a gift. Even without Adams out, the Packers have the offense to keep this game close. I don’t trust the Cardinals' defense, and the Packers are going to keep it close. Look for Green Bay to find the offensive success early, and even if this game becomes a shootout, they will keep it close. Back Green Bay against the spread.
