The Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals face off on Sunday in a cross-conference NFL showdown at the University of Phoenix Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2017, the Texans won 31-21.
The Houston Texans come into this game with a 1-5 record and in their last game it was an ugly one, giving up 31 points to the Indianapolis Colts, and the offense could only manage three points. The Texans are averaging 15.3 points while the defense is giving up 28.7 points. Under center for the Texans is Davis Mills and he has thrown for 912 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Running back Mark Ingram has been the top back rushing for 285 yards and one touchdown.
On the other side of this matchup is the Arizona Cardinals who still have a perfect record and they are coming off a perfect 37-14 record overall. Arizona is averaging 32.3 points while the defense is giving up 18.2 points. Kyler Murray is playing like an MVP candidate again and he has thrown for 1,741 yards, 14 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Running backs James Conner and Chase Edmonds have been quite the 1-2 punch of the backfield. In this game, Arizona needs to try to run up the score and create a couple of turnovers off of Mills.
The Texans are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games in October. Arizona is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall. The under is 4-1 in the Texans last five road games. The over is 6-2 in the Cardinals last eight home games.
The only real concern with this team is that the Cardinals might overlook this game. This is a Texans team that has all kinds of issues scoring, and it’s not going to be any different in this game. Look for a big game from Murray and the Texans are going to have no chance to keep this game close. Back the Cardinals to win this game and cover the spread.
