The Seattle Seahawks will travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday night in NFL action.

The Seattle Seahawks dropped to 2-3 on the season after being defeated by the Los Angeles Rams, 26-17, on October 7th. Seattle struggled offensively against the tough Los Angeles defense and could not fight back after a 2-yard TD run by Sony Michel gave the Rams a 23-14 lead with 6:08 left in regulation. Seattle was outgained by Los Angeles by a 476-354 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin. Leading the way for the Seahawks was DK Metcalf who had 5 receptions for 98 yards & 2 TD’s.

On the season, Seattle is averaging 24.0 ppg on 369.4 total yards per game (265.4 passing yds/g; 104.0 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Seattle has been led by Russell Wilson who has completed 72.0% of his passes for 1196 yards (252.8 passing yds/g), 10 TD & 1 INT, however, Wilson will miss the next 3-4 weeks due to a finger injury and will be replaced by Geno Smith who completed 10 of 17 passes for 131 yards, 1 TD, & 1 INT in relief of Wilson last week. The top receiving threats for the Seahawks have been Tyler Lockett (25 rec, 390 yards, 3 TD) DK Metcalf (25 rec, 383 yards, 5 TD), & Freddie Swain (10 rec, 134 yards, 2 TD). Leading the way for the Seahawks backfield has been Chris Carson who has 232 yards & 3 TD’s on 54 carries.

Defensively, Seattle is averaging 25.2 ppg on 466.8 total yards per game (321.6 passing yds/g; 145.2 rushing yds/g).

The Pittsburgh Steelers snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 2-3 on the season after defeating the Denver Broncos, 27-19, this past Sunday. Pittsburgh was solid on the offensive end against a decent Denver defense and was able to hold on for the victory after an 18-yard TD reception by Chase Claypool gave the Steelers a 24-6 lead late in the 3rd quarter. Pittsburgh outgained Denver by a 391-374 margin and forced 1 turnover in the victory. Leading the way for the Steelers RB Najee Harris who had 122 rushing yards & 1 TD on 23 carries.

On the season, Pittsburgh is allowing their opponents to average 22.4 ppg on 372.4 total yards per game (272.0 passing yds/g; 100.4 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Pittsburgh has been led by RB Najee Harris who has 307 rushing yards & 2 TD’s on 78 carries while also hauling in 28 receptions for 198 yards & 1 TD. QB Ben Roethlisberger has completed 63.6% of his passes for 1286 yards (259.0 passing yds/g), 6 TD, & 4 INT. The top receiving threats for the Steelers have been Chase Claypool (20 rec, 341 yards, TD), Diontae Johnson (25 rec, 305 yards, 3 TD), & Pat Freiermuth (11 rec, 100 yards, TD).

Defensively, Pittsburgh is allowing their opponents to average 22.4 ppg on 372.4 total yards per game (272.0 passing yds/g; 100.4 rushing yds/g).

The Seahawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Steelers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 week 6 games, however, just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Seattle got a solid performance by Geno Smith in relief against the Rams, however, I’m not trusting Smith on the road against a solid Pittsburgh defense that ranks 10th in the NFL in scoring defense. Pittsburgh has had some trouble on the offensive end this season, however, they looked decent last week against Denver and as Seattle has allowed the most yards in the NFL coming into this week, I think Pittsburgh wins this one at home by at least a TD and covers this spread. Good Luck!
