The Los Angeles Chargers face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, October 17th, at M&T Bank Stadium for a Week 6 NFL matchup.
The Los Angeles Chargers were able to defeat the Cleveland Browns last week in one of the more thrilling games this season. The Bolts won that game by the final score of 47-42, as Justin Herbert had a career day throwing for 398 yards and four passing touchdowns. The Chargers are now 4-1 on the season with the win and are in first place in the AFC West standings, one game ahead of both the Raiders and Broncos. The Chargers' offense has been electric this season, scoring 28 points per game and earning over 400 yards of offense per contest as well. The Chargers' defense got torched on the ground last week by Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, but on the season the Chargers are only allowing 23 points per game and 372 total yards per game. Justin Herbert has completed 67.1% of his passes for 1,576 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.
The Baltimore Ravens are also coming off a thrilling win last week in their Monday Night Football victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens trailed by as many as 19 points in that game but were able to come all the way back and send the game to overtime at 25-25. In OT, Lamar Jackson found Marquise Brown in the end zone for the game-winning score. Lamar Jackson had 442 passing yards and four passing touchdowns to go with his 62 rushing yards in the win. The Ravens have scored 27 points per game on 441 total yards per game this season. The defense has been a bit inconsistent this season, but on the year the Ravens are only allowing 23 points per game.
The Baltimore Ravens are 2.5-point favorites and the total is set at 51.5. This should be a fantastic game with two 4-1 teams going at it. Both defenses are coming off really bad performances and I could see a ton of points scored in this one as well. I do not see the Chargers stopping the Ravens running game with Lamar Jackson, and the same goes for the Ravens against Herbert and the LAC passing game. I will take the over in what should be one of the more entertaining games this week.
