The Houston Texans face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, October 17th, at Lucas Oil Stadium for a Week 6 NFL matchup.
The Houston Texans were defeated by the New England Patriots last week by the final score of 25-22. The Texans held the lead in that one for a majority of the game, but the Patriots were able to mount an impressive comeback late to win. The Texans were able to cover the spread in the loss moving Houston to 3-2 against the spread this season and 1-4 overall. The Texans had their best offensive showing with Davis Mills last week, as Mills threw for 312 passing yards and three passing touchdowns with no interceptions. The Texans have not been able to run the ball all season, rushing for less than 85 yards in four straight games. Left tackle Laremy Tunsil is going to miss some time for Houston, which only makes a bad offensive line worse. The Texans are scoring 18 points per game and allowing 28 points per game as it has not been a pretty season for Houston.
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off another heartbreaking performance against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. The Colts let a 19-point lead slip and wound up losing the game 31-25 in overtime. The Colts are now 1-4 on the year, despite putting together a few strong performances against the Ravens and Rams. The Colts' offense put up 513 total yards against a tough Ravens defense last week, as Carson Wentz had a very successful game throwing for over 400 yards and two passing touchdowns. The Colts are scoring 22 points per game on 363 total yards per game offensively. The Colts' defense has been inconsistent against the pass and on the year, Indy is allowing opposing quarterbacks over a 73% completion percentage.
The Indianapolis Colts are 10-point favorites and the total is set at 43.5. I do not see the Texans doing much on the ground in this one, and that leaves Davis Mills with a ton of pressure yet again. I do not trust Davis Mills on the road one bit and I think the Colts make enough stops and force enough turnovers to take this game by at least two touchdowns. I am not in love with laying 10 points with a 1-4 team, but the Texans are in an awful spot here.
