The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears face off on Sunday in a Week 6 NFL showdown at Soldier Field. When these two teams faced off in January of 2021, the Packers won 35-16.
The Packers lost their first game of the season, but since that point they have been quite impressive winning four straight games. In the last game against the Cincinnati Bengals, it was a close game, but they won by three points. Mason Crosby did have some struggles going 4 for 7 on his kicks, but he did hit the game-winner in overtime. The Packers are averaging 24 points while the defense is giving up 24.4 points per game. Aaron Rodgers is having another big year throwing for 1,241 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Aaron Jones has also rushed for 309 yards and two touchdowns. He is dealing with an ankle injury though, and it’s unclear if he will be able to go in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Bears who have been inconsistent this year, but they do sit above .500 with a 3-2 record. In the Bears last game they went on the road to Las Vegas and beat the Raiders by 11 points. The defense only gave up nine points, and that led to the victory. Under center for the Bears is Justin Fields but even though they won the last game, he only threw for 111 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Fields has thrown for 458 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. The Bears are averaging 16.8 points while the defense is giving up 20 points per game.
Packers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games. Chicago is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games on grass. The Packers are 20-7 against the spread in their last 27 games against the Bears. The favorite is 4-1 in the last five meetings. The over is 6-2 in the eight meetings in Chicago.
Fields might be a very good quarterback during his NFL career, but I just don’t trust him in this game going against the Packers. Rodgers is going to have another big game, and the Bears offense won’t keep up. I expect the Packers to win by at least 10 points
