The Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots face off on Sunday in a Week 6 NFL showdown at Gillette Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2019, the Patriots came away with the 13-9 victory.

Dallas looks like one of the best teams in the NFC winning four of their first five games. In the last game against the New York Giants, the offense was elite again scoring 44 points. Dak Prescott looks to be an early MVP candidate and in the last game, he threw for 302 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. The Cowboys on the season are averaging 34 points while the defense is giving up 23.4 points. Prescott has thrown for 1,368 yards, 13 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Ezekiel Elliott has rushed for 452 yards and Tony Pollard has also rushed for 325 yards. The defense isn’t the strength of this team, but the offense is one of the best in the NFL.

On the other side of this matchup is the New England Patriots who sit with a 2-3 record but they are coming off a win over the Houston Texans. The Patriots looked like they were going to lose that game, but they outscored the Texans 10-0 in the 4th quarter to secure the three-point victory. The Patriots are averaging 19.2 points while the defense is giving up 18.4 points per game. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones has been inconsistent this season throwing for 1,243 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions. One issue for the Patriots is they don’t have a consistent running game to help take some of the pressure off of Jones.

The Cowboys are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games. The Patriots are 2-10-1 against the spread in their last 13 games following a straight-up win. The over is 12-5 in the Cowboys last 17 games in October. The road team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings.

The Patriots offense has been a major disappointment this year, and I don’t think they are going to magically start finding success in this game. Dak Prescott is going to lead the Cowboys to at least 30 points, and this one will get ugly early. Back the Cowboys to win this game and cover the spread.
