The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts face off on Monday night football in a Week 5 NFL showdown at M&T Bank Stadium. When these two teams faced off in November of 2020, the Ravens won 24-10.
The Ravens come into this game with a 3-1 record overall, but they still can’t be very happy with how they have played in some of the games. They are a bounce on the goal post away from being 2-2. In the last game against the Broncos, the Ravens played one of their most complete games of the year winning 23-7. Overall, they are averaging 26.3 points per game while the defense is giving up 23 points per game. Lamar Jackson has thrown for 1,077 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 279 yards, and two touchdowns. Jackson has still had an issue with the turnover issues, and he needs to take better care of the ball in this one.
On the other side of this matchup is the Indianapolis Colts who lost their first three games of the season, before beating the Miami Dolphins in their game. The Colts offense finally looked good scoring 27 points. Carson Wentz looked good throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Jonathan Taylor also rushed 16 times for 103 yards and a touchdown. The Colts are averaging 20.7 points while the defense is giving up 24.2 points. Wentz on the season has thrown for 920 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. Wide receiver Michael Pittman is also having a big year sitting with 279 yards but he still hasn’t found the end zone.
The Colts are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games against teams with winning records. The Ravens are 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games. The Colts are 10-2 in the last 12 meetings between the two teams. The under is 12-1 in the last 13 meetings.
The Ravens are the better team, but this is too many points to be laying. Lamar Jackson is still turning the ball over too many times, and that will continue in this game. Carson Wentz has some confidence heading into this one, and the Colts will cover the spread.
