The New York Giants face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, October 10th, at AT&T Stadium for a Week 5 NFL matchup.
The New York Giants are coming off an emotional win in New Orleans over the Saints. The Giants took down the Saints in overtime by the final score of 27-21 on a Saquon Barkley game-winning touchdown. The Giants are now on the board in the win column at 1-3 and are headed to Dallas for their second-straight road game. The Giants' offense was able to move the ball well against a very tough Saints defense, as Daniel Jones looked very comfortable. Jones on the year has a 66.7% completion percentage, 1,184 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, and only one interception (a pick on a Hail Mary throw at the end of the second quarter last week). The Giants will look to take down a big rival on the road this week and that will only happen if the defense can make some stops against Dak Prescott and a potent Cowboys offense. The Giants are allowing 24 points and 382 yards per game this season.
The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Carolina Panthers by the final score of 36-28 in Week 4. The Cowboys trailed 14-13 at the half, but Dallas came out with a vengeance in the third quarter, outscoring the Panthers 20-0 to take complete control of the game. The Cowboys are now 3-1 and have won three straight ever since their Thursday Night Football loss to the Buccaneers in Week 1. The Cowboys are the clear favorite in the NFC East and will look for their second divisional win of the year on Sunday. The Cowboys' defense has allowed 396 total yards per game, which is not great when compared to the rest of the league; however, the Cowboys are a +7 in the turnover battle. Trevon Diggs already has five interceptions on the year, as he has been a major part of the Cowboys' success. Obviously, the offense has also been on fire, scoring 32 points per game and earning over 420 yards of offense per contest as well.
The Cowboys are seven-point favorites and the total is set at 52. The way the Cowboys are forcing turnovers is plainly not sustainable and I think eventually we are going to see the Cowboys get into trouble defensively. I think this could be that spot, and in a divisional battle I cannot pass up a touchdown worth of points. I think the Cowboys win this game by a field goal, so I will take the Giants and the points here.
