Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders 10/10/21 NFL Picks and Predictions
The Chicago Bears face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, October 10th, at Allegiant Stadium for a Week 5 NFL matchup.
The Chicago Bears are coming off an important win over their NFC North rivals in the Detroit Lions. The Bears went with Justin Fields at quarterback in the win and although he was not too effective in the passing game, the offense did have 373 total yards. The Bears are going to be without starting running back David Montgomery, who went down with an injury in last week's game. Damien Williams will look to be the lead back for Chicago and Justin Fields is set to get another start this week in Las Vegas. The Bears' defense has held up pretty well but has not put up the numbers we are used to seeing. Chicago has allowed 350 yards per game and 23 points per game to its opponents on the year. The Bears are 2-2 and could use their first road win of the season in this NFC vs. AFC battle.
The Las Vegas Raiders suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of their division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers dominated the first half of that contest, taking a 21-0 lead into the break. The Raiders were able to make it a game in the second half by scoring two unanswered touchdowns, but the Chargers were able to hold on for the 28-14 win. The Raiders are still 3-1 and are tied for the division lead with the Chargers in the AFC West. The Raiders' offense has scored 26 points per game and has earned 407 total yards of offense per game as well. The Raiders' defense has allowed 25 points per game and 362 total yards of offense. The Raiders have really struggled in the first quarter this season, as three times this year, the Raiders have gone down 14-0 to start a game and have been able to come back and win in two of those.
The Las Vegas Raiders are 5.5-point favorites and the total is set at 44. I think this game will be a lot closer than some may think. The Raiders have been slow starters and if the Bears can get any momentum early, it could be enough for a cover. I think this is a field goal game either way, but I do expect the Raiders to prevail in the end. I will take the points with Chicago.
