The Washington Football Team will head on the road to face the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday in an NFL regular season matchup. The Falcons won 38-14 when these teams last played in 2018.
Washington is now 1-2 after a 43-21 loss on the road in Buffalo last time out. They had 290 yards of total offense and three turnovers in the game. Taylor Heinicke threw for 212 and two touchdowns but tossed two picks. On the ground, they racked up just 78 yards on 25 carries. The Football Team’s defense had no answers for the Bills, allowing 481 yards with no turnovers. Buffalo was also 9-15 on third down conversions. To start the season, Washington ranks 24th with 221.7 passing yards per game and 21st with 97 yards rushing. They have averaged 22.3 points per game while allowing 30.7 to the opposition. Terry McLaurin has been their top performer on offense, tallying 19 catches for 231 yards and a touchdown.
Atlanta got their first win last time out, beating the Giants 17-14 in New York. The offense did not look great as they were held to under 300 yards of total offense. Matt Ryan did most of the heavy lifting, going 27/36 for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Their defense did a good job limiting points as the Giants were able to move the ball well throughout the game, finishing with 346 total yards. Through three games the Falcons rank 26th with 218.7 passing yards per game and 28th with 82.7 on the ground. They have averaged 16 points per game while allowing 31.3 tot heir opponents. Calvin Ridley has been the focal point of the offense so far, bringing in 20 of 29 targets for 175 yards, all leading the team.
Washington is 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games, 6-4 on the money line, and the under is 7-3.
Atlanta is 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games, 3-7 on the money line, and the under is 7-3.
Despite getting torched by Buffalo last week, the Football Team has a solid defense that was just overpowered by a great offense. Matt Ryan will not be able to escape pressure the same way Josh Allen did, which will lead to some drives ending early for the Falcons. On the other side, Washington has shown that they can move the ball with Heinicke under center, and Atlanta’s secondary is going to have issues matching up with Terry McLaurin. Give me Washington to get the win on the road.
