Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys: 9/27/21 NFL Picks and Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys face off in an NFC East showdown on Monday night football at AT&T Stadium. In December of 2020, the Cowboys beat the Eagles 37-20. 

The Cowboys have been involved in a couple of close battles and they sit with a 1-1 record. After losing 31-29 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they bounced back against the Chargers winning 20-17. Dak Prescott has looked good coming back from injury, but more impressive has been the play of Tony Pollard. In the last game Pollard had 13 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown. CeeDee Lamb also had eight carries for 81 yards. On defense, the Cowboys were bad last season, and they don’t look like they are all that much improved this season. The Cowboys have a tough task with their defense, and in this game they need to keep the running game of the Eagles contained. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Philadelphia Eagles who also sit with a 1-1 record. After beating the Atlanta Falcons in the first game of the season, the offense didn’t have much success in Week 2, which led to the 17-11 defeat against the San Francisco 49ers. Jalen Hurts has thrown for 454 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Hurts has also rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown. Miles Sanders has also added 129 yards and a touchdown. On defense, the Eagles still have plenty of question marks, and if they want to get the job done in this game, they are going to need to slow down Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott. 

The Eagles are 1-4 against the spread in their last five meetings in Dallas. The Eagles are 2-5 against the spread in the last seven meetings between the two teams. The favorite is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. The home team is 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings. 

All trends point towards the Cowboys, and they are going to be the team that gets it done. The Eagles might score, but the Cowboys have the better offense, and I expect the Cowboys offense to run all over the field. This game is going to get out of control early with the Cowboys winning in blowout fashion.
