Baltimore Ravens at Detroit Lions: 9/26/21 NFL Picks and Predictions
The Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions face off on Sunday in a Week 3 NFL showdown at Ford Field. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2017 and the Ravens won 44-20.
The Ravens easily could be 2-0 right now or they could be 0-2, but after two close battles they sit with a 1-1 record. The Ravens have been all about the offense averaging 31 points per game. In the last game against the Chiefs, Harbaugh kept the ball in Lamar Jackson’s hands late to seal the victory. Turnovers are still an issue for Jackson, but overall he has found a whole lot of success. Against the Chiefs, Jackson completed 18 of his 26 passes for 239 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also rushed 16 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Ty’son Williams also looks to be the lead back for the team and against the Chiefs he rushed for 77 yards.
On the other side of this matchup is the Detroit Lions who sit with an 0-2 record but they have shown some flashes. In the first game against the San Francisco 49ers, they almost made a comeback, and in the last game against the Green Bay Packers they were leading at halftime but were outscored 17-0 in the second half. The Lions defense clearly has some major issues giving up 38 points per game. Jared Goff, like much of his career, has been inconsistent. Goff threw for 246 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against the Packers. If the Lions want any chance in this game, they need the defense to be better in this game or this will be another bad loss.
The Ravens are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against teams with a losing record. The Lions are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games following an against the spread win. The under is 6-2 in the Ravens last eight road games. The over is 13-3 in the Lions last 16 home games.
The Lions defense has been awful to start the season, and they aren’t going to magically change that in this game. The Lions are going to struggle to contain Jackson and this game will get out of hand early. Back the Ravens to win this game and cover the spread.
