The Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams face off on Sunday Night Football at SoFi Stadium. These two teams faced off in 2020 and the Rams were able to beat the Bears 24-10.
The Chicago Bears finished last season with an 8-8 record overall but they hope the changes they made this offseason will get this team to the next level. Gone is Mitchell Trubisky who moved onto the Buffalo Bills. The team also brought in Andy Dalton and drafted Justin Fields. Many believed Justin Fields would get the start in this game, but the team has decided to start Dalton. On defense, the Bears still have Khalil Mack who wasn’t as impressive last season, but the expectation is that he will have a bigger game. Mack needs to spend a lot of time in the backfield in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Rams who finished last season with a 10-6 record overall. The Rams also made some big changes this offseason in hopes of this team taking the next step forward. The Rams traded Jared Goff and in return got Matthew Stafford. Last season, Stafford completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,084 yards, 26 yards, and 10 touchdowns. The team also traded for Sony Michel who should split carries with Darrell Henderson Jr. In this game the Rams need to try and create a couple of turnovers, and really put pressure on the Bears.
The Bears are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games against the NFC. The Rams are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games in Week 1. The under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings played between the two teams. The home team is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between the Rams and Bears.
I don’t trust Andy Dalton, and he is going to have a few turnovers in this game. Matthew Stafford is going to attack the Bears defense, and the Rams will have no issue getting the job done in this game. Back the Rams against the spread.
