The Jacksonville Jaguars opened up their preseason against the Cleveland Browns, and they really struggled in it. The Jaguars defense wasn’t great giving up 23 points, and the offense couldn’t find enough success to keep it close.The Jaguars also got their first chance to look at Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence completed six of his nine passes for 71 yards. The best quarterback stats wise though was C.J. Beathard who finished throwing for 102 yards and a touchdown while completing 13 of his 16 passes. In this game, the Jaguars are going to want to see more production of Lawrence as they get closer to the regular season.

On the other side of this matchup is the New Orleans Saints who have a quarterback battle on their hands. In the last game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Saints were competitive, but they lost by three points. The competition for the starting job is between Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston, but the best quarterback might have been Ian Book. Book is fighting for a roster spot, and he finished the last game throwing for 126 yards, but he also had an interception. Turnovers were a big issue for the Saints in the last game and if they want to find success in this game, they are going to need to take better care of the ball.
