The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams face off on Saturday in an NFL preseason showdown at SoFi Stadium. These two teams have been involved in joint practices and they have been feisty, something that could boil over into the game.
The Los Angeles Rams team looks a lot different this season with Matthew Stafford under center now. In the first game of the season, the Rams faced off with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Rams really struggled scoring only six points and that led to the 13-6 defeat. Devlin Hodges and Bryce Perkins were the two players who played quarterback in the last game. Hodges finished with 85 yards and an interception while Perkins threw for 42 yards and a touchdown. In this game, if the Rams want to win, the offense is going to need to be better.
On the other side of this matchup is the Las Vegas Raiders who opened up their preseason with a game against the Seattle Seahawks and the Raiders were able to win 20-7. Nathan Peterman got all the playing time in that game against the Seahawks throwing for 246 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception. On the ground, the Raiders were led by Trey Ragas who finished with 13 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown. The defense was strong in the last game, and in this one it’s going to be important that the defense steps up.
The Raiders are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games overall. The over is 6-2 in the Raiders' last eight road games. The over is 4-0 in the Rams last four Saturday games. The Raiders are 0-5 against the spread in their last five games against the Rams. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings played between the two teams.
The Rams offense isn’t going to be good again in this game and that will be the difference as the Raiders get the job done. Look for the Raiders offense to score 20 or 23 points again, and they will get the job done against the spread.
