The Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys face off on Saturday in an NFL preseason showdown at AT&T Stadium.
The Houston Texans first game of the preseason was against the Green Bay Packers, and they looked impressive. The Texans offense was strong putting up 26 points and that led to the 19 point victory. The Texans are still trying to figure out what to do with Deshaun Watson, but he won’t be playing in this game. In the last game, Davis Mills looked pretty good finishing with 112 yards and an interception. Quarterback Jeff Driskel didn’t look good throwing for only two yards and completing only one of his six attempts. Running back Scottie Phillips also had a big game having 13 carries and 66 yards. The Texans defense also locked down, and the defense is going to need to be good in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Dallas Cowboys who have played two preseason games so far and they have lost each of the last two games. In the last game, the Cowboys offense was a little better scoring 16 points, but their defense gave up 19 points and that led to the defeat. Garrett Gilbert, Cooper Rush, and Ben DiNucci all got about equal playing time in the last game. Rush was the best stats-wise finishing with 89 yards. The big question heading into this game for the Cowboys is if Dak Prescott will make his first appearance of the preseason
The Texans are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as underdogs. The Cowboys are 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 games overall. The under is 5-1 in the Texans last six games as an underdog. The over is 5-2 in the Cowboys last seven games overall. The underdog is 4-1 against the spread in the last five games played between the two teams. The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings played between the two teams.
The wrong team is favored in this game. THe Cowboys have done nothing to impress me so far this preseason, and it’s not going to get any better in this game. Back the Texans to come away with a victory on the money line.
