The Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears face off on Saturday in an NFL preseason showdown at Soldier Field. Both of these teams currently sit with a 1-0 record overall.
The Buffalo Bills have high expectations heading into this season and they were able to pick up a win in their last game against the Detroit Lions on a field goal in the last seconds. Mitchell Trubisky had only two pass attempts in the last game and it was Davis Webb and Jake Fromm who got a lot of the playing time. Davis Webb completed 11 of his 16 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Jake Fromm also completed eight of his 13 passes for 65 yards. The leading rusher in the last game was Devin Singletary who had eight carries for 42 yards. The starters should get a little more playing time in this game, but still expect to see plenty of Webb and Fromm in this one.
On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Bears who say there is still a quarterback battle, but if Justin Fields continues to play well, it’s going to be hard for the team to go in a different direction. The Bears opened up the preseason against the Miami Dolphins and the Bears were able to come away with the 20-13 victory. Justin Fields got the most playing tie and he finished completing 14 of his 20 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Rodney Williams also had a good game finishing with four receptions and 57 yards. In this game it’s going to be all about Fields and how he looks.
The Bills are 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games overall. The Bills are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. The Bears are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games played on grass. The over is 4-1 in the Bills last five road games. The favorite is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings played between the Bills and Bears .
I expect Justin Fields is going to have a big game and he is going to throw a couple of touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills. Look for the Bears to come away with a victory and a cover of the spread.
