Breaking Down the Baltimore Ravens Win Total
2020 NFL Season
Baltimore Ravens - 11.5 Wins - Super Bowl Odds 15/2 Click Here for the Latest Odds
The 2019 Baltimore Ravens had the best record of 14-2 during the regular season. With big-time playoff aspirations and a Super Bowl or Bust mentality, the Ravens hopes fell far short, as the team lost in the Divisional Round to the Tennessee Titans. The team in 2020 will have big goals again, with star QB Lamar Jackson at the helm. Get NFL Predictions and Picks for Every NFL game at Pick Dawgz.
Offense: The Ravens had the number one ranked offense in the entire NFL a season ago, scoring a league-leading 33.2 points per game. A large majority of this success was due to Lamar Jackson's play in the passing and rushing game. Jackson was a two-headed monster in himself, as he has major threats to opposing defenses through his arm and legs. The lack of WR weapons did not hurt Baltimore until playoff time, as other than WR Marquise Brown, the Ravens were light in the wide receiver position. I expect the Ravens to address this need in the NFL Draft. WR Chris Moore signed with the team to a one-year deal, but I still think this team needs some more firepower at that position. Other than that, this offense looks to do serious damage once again, but it all comes down to Jackson.
Defense: The reason why the Ravens had so much success in the 2019 regular season was due to the fact that they also had an amazing defense. Ranked 3rd in the NFL in total defense, the Ravens D suffocated opponents and gave the offense that much-needed wiggle room. The Ravens brought in a very talented veteran into their defensive system, with the signing of DE Derek Wolfe. Wolfe had 7.0 sacks for the Broncos in 2019, his career-best total. The losses of Josh Bynes and Patrick Onwuasor do not alarm me, as this defense is loaded with depth. Overall, the defense for Baltimore should have yet another exciting year.
Overview: I think this Ravens team can only go up after a disappointing end to their 2019 campaign. This team is skilled all around, and I think with the addition of a few more weapons on the offensive side of the ball, this team can easily get to 12 wins in a weaker division. I will take the Ravens over 11.5 wins for sure.
