The Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs meet in NFL action from Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
Tennessee finished off the regular season at 9-7 overall. The Titans have notched a pretty epic playoff run so far, taking out the Patriots 20-13 in the Wild Card Round and the Ravens 28-12 in the Divisional Round.
In that big upset win over Baltimore, Tennessee QB Ryan Tannehill put up 88 yards with two touchdowns on seven completions, and Kalif Raymond caught a 45-yard score. Derrick Henry did the heavy lifting there with 195 rushing yards.
Over on the Chiefs’ side, they went 12-4 in the regular season. Kansas City finished off the year with victories over the Chargers, Raiders, Patriots, Broncos, Bears and Chargers before taking out the Texans in comeback fashion during the Divisional Round.
In the win over Houston, Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes posted 321 yards and five touchdowns while Damien Williams had 47 rush yards and two scores. Travis Kelce added 134 yards with three scores receiving.
The Titans are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine versus the AFC. Tennessee is 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. KC is 5-0-1 ATS in their last six versus the AFC And 4-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
Tennessee has become a beloved underdog in these NFL playoffs, as it’s a pretty implausible scenario that they’ve been so dominant against the elite competition of the league. Here we are though, and the Titans are imposing their run-first will on everybody that comes their way.
As for the Chiefs, their big comeback versus Houston was the stuff of NFL legend, and they’re riding high with a seven-game win streak. KC’s last loss was to—guess who—-the Titans, however. In any case, this should be a great game, and the line seems thick enough for Tennessee to get in there.
