The Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars face off on Sunday in an AFC South at EverBank Field. The home team won each of the two games last season.  

This Indianapolis Colts team looks a lot different than they did last year. The Colts had some quarterback issues last season, but they went out and got Phillip Rivers this offseason in hopes he can be a gamechanger for the team. Last season with the Los Angeles Chargers, Rivers threw for 4.165 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. Rivers is getting all the attention, but the best part of this team might be the running game. The Colts still have Marlon Mack and they also brought in Jonathan Taylor. 

On defense, the Colts were very average giving up 23.3 points per game but if the secondary is better they should be in good shape. Last season the Colts gave up less than 100 yards per game.

On the other side of this matchup is the Jaguars who really look like they are in tank mode heading into the season. Just before the season started, the Jaguars shipped off Yannick Ngakoue and Ronnie Harrison, those will both be big losses for the team. They also released Leonard Fournette.  Even though this team might not be the most flashy, there are some expectations around quarterback Gardner Minshew who many believe will be able to lead the team to at least some success. Last season Minshew threw for 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions. 

On defense, the Jaguars need to try and take away the run first, and make Rivers use his arm to beat them. 

The Colts are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine against the AFC South. The over is 7-3 in the Colts last ten games as a favorite. The under is 9-4 in the Jaguars last 13 home games. The Colts are 1-7-1 against the spread in their last ten meetings against the Jaguars. 

The Colts have struggled to cover spreads against the Jaguars and that will continue in this game. Look for the Jaguars to make life tough on Phillip Rivers and intercept a few passes. Take the Jaguars to cover the spread, but I will also be laying a few dollars on the money line.
